Mystical Meghalaya: A Journey to the Clouds

Itinerary Overview 

Shillong ( 4N)- Nongriat ( 1N)-Shillong(1N)

 

Day 1: Arrival at Guwahati - Shillong

 

Arrive at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station and proceed to Shillong (110 Kms / 3 Hrs). En-route, visit Umiam Lake (also known as Barapani Lake). Check-in to your hotel in Shillong. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 2: Shillong - Cheerapunji (Sohra) - Shillong

 

After breakfast, drive to Cheerapunji (also known as Sohra, the wettest place on earth). The distance to Cheerapunji is approximately 65 Kms / 2 Hours. Visit Seven Sister Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsamai Cave, Eco Park & Ram Krishna Mission. Return to Shillong for an overnight stay.

 

Day 3: Shillong Sightseeing

 

After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Shillong. Explore attractions such as Shillong Peak, Don Bosco Museum, Ward\'s Lake, and Elephant Falls. Enjoy leisure time in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong.

 

Day 4: Shillong - Dawki - Mawlynnong - Shillong

 

After breakfast, drive to Dawki, known for its crystal clear waters of Umngot River. Enjoy a boat ride (optional activity). Then proceed to Mawlynnong, known as the cleanest village in Asia. Explore the living root bridge and enjoy panoramic views. Return to Shillong for an overnight stay.

 

Day 5: Shillong - Cherrapunji - Nongriat

 

After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji and trek to Nongriat village to explore the Double Decker Living Root Bridge and the Rainbow Falls. Spend the day exploring the natural beauty of the area. Overnight stay in Nongriat village.

 

Day 6: Nongriat - Shillong

 

After breakfast, trek back to Cherrapunji and then drive back to Shillong. Enjoy the evening at leisure in Shillong. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 7: Shillong - Guwahati - Tour Ends

 

After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati (110 Kms / 3 Hrs). Visit Maa Kamakhya Temple, Umananda Temple, and explore the local markets if time permits. Drop-off at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for onward journey. The tour concludes with sweet memories.
